About The Position

Sensient Technologies is seeking a Senior Attorney to work on complex, high-profile global matters as part of a collaborative in-house legal team. The role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, develop litigation expertise, and build business partnerships. This position is 100% office-based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with onsite work five days per week. It reports to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. The Senior Attorney oversees litigation and disputes worldwide, supports the Company’s compliance program and litigation avoidance efforts, and advises business units on claims and other legal matters. The role also includes exposure to other areas of law, from contract review to business counseling. Sensient Technologies Corporation is a global manufacturer and marketer of colors, flavors, and extracts, serving major international manufacturers. The Company is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
License to practice law in the United States.
Five to seven years of litigation experience.
Highly developed negotiation skills.
Ability to develop and closely manage case budgets and outside counsel spending.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues and recommendations in plain English to non-lawyers.
Excellent management skills and business judgment, with a well-developed ability to make decisions.
Understanding of overall business objectives and the risks and rewards of different situations to provide practical counsel.
Proactive approach and ability to get work done with minimal direction.
Authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Oversee, direct, and help resolve commercial, intellectual property, workers’ compensation, and other disputes around the world.
Counsel business units on resolving claims before litigation.
Work with outside counsel to develop litigation strategy and manage case budgets.
Review discovery and prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
Attend settlement conferences, mediations, and arbitrations.
Support the Company’s compliance program and litigation avoidance efforts.
Support internal investigations related to legal claims or potential litigation exposure.
Monitor legal trends and developments that may affect litigation or liability risk.
Ensure litigation strategies align with Sensient’s values, risk tolerance, and business objectives.
Provide legal support in other areas, including contract review and business counseling.
