About The Position

The Brattle Group is seeking a Senior Associate to join their team in Boston, MA. This role involves framing research approaches, directing and managing projects, and producing written analyses for litigation, regulatory proceedings, international arbitration, and consulting engagements. The Senior Associate will develop and oversee quantitative data analysis, draft reports summarizing analytical work, and manage projects, including client communication and response to requests. This position also involves overseeing final work products such as reports, memos, proposals, presentations, data requests, interrogatories, and expert witness testimony. Additionally, the role includes assisting counsel with preparing expert witnesses, deposing opposing experts, and drafting post-trial briefs. Business development activities, including drafting materials, proposals, and budgets, speaking at conferences, and publishing, are also key responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance or related quantitative field and 4 years of experience consulting on financial, regulatory and/or economic concepts OR Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance or related quantitative field and 7 years of experience consulting on financial, regulatory and/or economic concepts.
  • Any amount of experience with or demonstrated knowledge of quantitative analytics.
  • Any amount of experience with or demonstrated knowledge of analytical/statistical software include STATA, R, SQL and Excel.
  • Any amount of experience with or demonstrated knowledge of complex financial and/or economic related concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Frame research approaches and direct and manage projects in a team environment to produce written analyses used in litigation, regulatory proceedings, international arbitration, and consulting engagements.
  • Develop statistical, econometric, and other quantitative data analysis and oversee analysis performed by Research Analysts.
  • Draft reports that summarize and explain the results of analytical work performed, using clear and concise writing that presents technical concepts in a manner accessible to non-economists.
  • Responsible for project management, including keeping the client informed of new developments and responding to client requests.
  • Responsible for overseeing the final work product for reports, client memos, proposals, presentations, data requests, interrogatories, and expert witness testimony in a litigation and non-litigation environment.
  • Assist counsel with preparing expert witness for deposition and trial testimony, cross-examination and deposition of opposing expert witnesses, and drafting of post-trial briefs.
  • Responsible for participating in and leading business development activities including drafting business development materials, drafting proposals and budgets, speaking at conferences, and publishing in professional and trade journals.
