About The Position

Extell is seeking a high performing Senior Associate to work directly with the President & Co CEO on firmwide strategic initiatives. This role offers broad exposure across acquisitions, asset management, portfolio strategy, capital raising, research, AI integration, and corporate strategy, with exceptional visibility. This is a high volume, fast paced, and demanding role appropriate for a self motivated professional with a strong work ethic, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to perform under tight timelines while managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical real estate professional who combines strong technical skills with strategic thinking

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in real estate private equity, development, investment banking, or asset management
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Strong experience with: Development and real estate underwriting models Portfolio modeling and asset level analysis Senior and mezzanine capital structures Joint ventures, preferred equity, and complex equity waterfalls Market analysis including supply, demand, absorption, and pricing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience interfacing with senior leadership
  • Exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a high expectation environment
  • Proven ability to handle significant workload and evolving priorities with professionalism and discretion

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the President & Co CEO on high priority, time sensitive strategic initiatives
  • Underwrite acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, and strategic investments
  • Build and maintain sophisticated development, valuation, and portfolio level models
  • Perform portfolio analysis to support asset level and firmwide capital allocation decisions
  • Analyze and structure senior debt, mezzanine, preferred equity, and JV capital stacks
  • Model equity waterfalls, promote structures, and investor returns
  • Conduct in depth market research, including supply/demand analysis
  • Support capital raising initiatives and investor materials
  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of AI and technology tools to enhance analytical efficiency
  • Manage multiple workstreams concurrently and deliver high quality output under tight deadlines
