Senior Associate, Research Team

Vote Rev Action Fund
Remote

About The Position

The Senior Associate will help manage a large-scale canvassing operation deploying a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of Site-Based Relational Postcards (SBRP) ahead of the 2026 general election. The Senior Associate will report to the Project Director and collaborate closely with other members of our Research and Program Team. In coordination with the VRAF Field Director on the ground, the Senior Associate will remotely manage the paid canvass firm’s implementation of the trial and own key relationships with firm leadership. The Senior Associate will monitor progress to goal, identify overall trends in the canvassing data and quality reports, and problem-solve to keep the trial on track. The Senior Associate will contribute to all elements of the tactic development and trial implementation including design, ideation, and research. This role will require flexibility, creativity, and an openness to trying new practices. We are dedicated to creating an organization that reflects the diversity of the country we serve. We strongly encourage women, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in campaigns and voter engagement nonprofits to apply.

Requirements

  • Campaign Exposure. At least one cycle in a field organizing management role (electoral campaign, paid canvassing, or allied organization preferred).
  • Partner Management. Proven experience managing professional relationships with partners, vendors, or external clients.
  • Effective Communicator. Proactive communication that bridges gaps between diverse groups, utilizes inquiry, and ensures all stakeholders are informed through consistent follow-through.
  • Operational Discipline. Demonstrated logistical experience and organizational skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and a readiness to master tools like Slack and Asana.
  • Problem Solving. A practical, hands-on approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to quickly resolve issues or adjust tactics in a field environment.
  • Research Mindset. An eagerness to learn research methods and adapt canvassing practices based on findings, prioritizing a growth mindset and a willingness to learn from both successes and failures. Direct research experience is not required, just excitement about trying new things and learning from both successes and failures!
  • Mission Alignment. A value-driven commitment to the voter contact space and a track record of translating support for disenfranchised groups into concrete, impactful action.
  • Capability to travel to either Detroit, Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, or Columbus, Ohio during the duration of the program. Additional travel expenses will be reimbursed by Vote Rev Action Fund.
  • Willingness work a regular Tuesday-Saturday work schedule and be flexible to changes closer to Election Day.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 10am-6pm EST and flexibility to work different hours occasionally.
  • Commitment to the mission of the organization: to design and quickly mainstream field-tested voter engagement innovations to amplify the power of historically disenfranchised communities
  • Commitment to understanding and actively opposing racism and promoting equity
  • Commitment to working with and for teams of diverse individuals and to reducing disparities in whose voice is heard in the electoral space
  • Demonstrated awareness of one’s own cultural identity and ability to build relationships and collaborate across lines of difference.
