The Senior Art Director leads global retail and packaging creative, combining consistent delivery with forward-thinking development of new consumer-facing concepts. This hands-on designer and team leader shapes how Skydance franchises appear in retail environments, packaging, campaigns, and selected experiences. Working with the VP and business partners, the role develops compelling concepts for stores, destinations, and associated digital touchpoints, then guides their execution. The Senior Art Director leads designers and external specialists, advancing creative ambition while respecting franchise direction, commercial needs, and production realities. The position is onsite at Skydance’s Los Angeles office. It leads day-to-day retail and packaging design, develops designers, establishes creative priorities with the VP, and aligns resources and delivery with Creative Operations. The role proactively develops and pitches concepts for retail destinations, shop-in-shops, pop-ups, and experiential opportunities while maintaining an agreed concept pipeline alongside ongoing delivery. The Senior Art Director remains hands-on in campaign identities, logos, packaging systems, displays, environmental graphics, and digital concepts, guiding work from exploration through production-ready design. The role partners with Experiences, Retail, Marketing, and regional teams early in development, adapting concepts for local audiences and specialist execution. It collaborates with Licensing Design and Character Art on franchise coherence and with the Creative Studio on selected motion, video, and social assets, and leads franchise branding projects as assigned by the VP. The role directs agencies and production partners, reviewing feasibility, materials, and execution quality within agreed budgets and timelines. It also provides selective creative consultation for owned e-commerce, such as Paramount Shop, through Product Design; routine product oversight and partner management remain with Product Design, and site asset execution remains partner-led. Primary deliverables include retail campaign identities, design toolkits and packaging systems; concept presentations for destinations, pop-ups, and experiential opportunities; environmental graphics, displays, digital creative concepts, and production-ready assets; and creative briefs for motion and video partnerships and market adaptations. Success is measured by franchise-strengthening creative that meets partner, production, and delivery requirements; actionable concepts for consumer engagement across physical and digital environments; and cohesive work from designers and external partners with clear priorities, stronger craft, and effective cross-team collaboration.
