About The Position

The Senior Art Director leads Skydance’s global licensing design portfolio, with franchise style guides and visual systems as the primary focus. This hands-on creative leader and senior partner to the VP translates franchise strategy, consumer insight, and cultural trends into distinctive, product-ready creative. The role directs and develops Art Directors, oversees multiple programs, and personally shapes priority work. In partnership with Character Art, Retail & Packaging, and the Creative Studio, the Senior Art Director ensures that design systems are compelling, coherent, and usable across categories and markets. This is an onsite position at the Los Angeles office. The role owns creative direction and quality across the style-guide portfolio; develops franchise visual systems, identity elements, and proofs of concept; and presents recommendations to stakeholders. The position’s primary deliverables include franchise style guides, visual systems and reusable licensing assets; creative briefs and design priorities; identity concepts, editorial language, graphics and product proofs of concept; and stakeholder presentations and creative direction for cross-team initiatives. Success is measured by distinctive, franchise-authentic, consumer-relevant guides that can be used across categories and markets; reliable delivery and consistent craft; and the development of Art Directors’ judgment and self-sufficiency. Skydance describes itself as a next-generation global media and entertainment company with business segments in Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, and TV Media. The position is bonus eligible. The stated hiring salary range is $156,800 to $200,000, with actual salary depending on job-related factors.
