About The Position

Marketing Communications (Marcom) is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all medias and platforms. Every day, hundreds of millions of Apple customers around the world interact with our products. We drive the strategy and creative work that provide both new and existing customers with simple, engaging and inspiring marketing experiences. The Greater China (GC) team, part of Apple's global Marketing Communications team, is responsible for all consumer-facing communications, including advertising, apple.com, direct marketing, Apple retail, channel, digital commerce, packaging, video, corporate identity, and partner communications. The Platform Creative team focuses on redefining how Apple connects with customers in real-time. At the heart of this is our rapidly growing livestream ecosystem—a space where product storytelling, live broadcast design, and real-time customer engagement intersect. You will work closely with livestream producers and agencies to define the creative vision for product launches and seasonal campaigns. Your mission is to elevate our real-time commerce mediums through innovative concepts, broadcast design, and art direction. By navigating where product storytelling, live broadcast design, and real-time customer engagement intersect, you will bring Apple's brand ethos to conversion-driven environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of design experience focused on art direction, creative concepting, broadcast design, or experiential design.
  • Portfolio demonstrating concept-driven design craft across live video, physical sets, or visual campaigns.
  • Proficiency in design, motion design, and presentation tools to build pitches and communicate visual direction.
  • Understanding of visual systems, spatial/set thinking, and live-camera communication.
  • Fluency in Chinese and English for communication with international team members.
  • Ability to process complex information and solve problems in live broadcasting environments.
  • Ability to use feedback and reflection to gain insight into personal development, driven by a passion for design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conceptualizing for livestream commerce, live entertainment, or interactive broadcast media within China’s digital ecosystem (Tmall, Taobao Live, Douyin, WeChat).
  • Experience art directing and managing third-party production partners, studios, or agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative concepts and visual directions for livestream broadcasts and real-time commerce events.
  • Translate complex product initiatives into visually compelling live shows, balancing conversion-driven goals with Apple’s brand ethos.
  • Craft the overarching visual identity for livestream events, ensuring cohesive product storytelling across set design, on-screen graphics, and visual flow.
  • Direct external agencies, production vendors, and livestream directors to align their tactical execution with your creative concepts.
  • Review and critique agency deliverables, collaborating across teams to evolve how Apple visually appears in real-time environments across Greater China.
