About The Position

Perkins Eastman Architects DPC is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer for their Philadelphia, PA location. This role involves creating project designs and plans, coordinating building design consultants, and leading teams in the development of aesthetic design and architectural documentation. The firm is a global architectural design practice focused on creating a positive impact on the human experience and the world, with an ethos of "human by design." Sustainability is integral to their design approach, with all good design considered sustainable. The position offers the flexibility of telecommuting up to two days per week.

Requirements

  • Masters of Architecture or related field, 6 years relevant architectural design experience, and required skills.
  • OR Bachelor’s of Architecture or related field, 8 years relevant architectural design experience, and required skills.
  • 3 years experience in design and documentation of hospitality, senior living, gaming.
  • 3 years experience working on adaptive reuse and historical renovation projects, including existing building survey and documentation.
  • 3 years experience in construction administration project phase, including submittal review, RFI investigation and response, and site observation.
  • 3 years experience working with building and practice area codes, including IBC, NFPA 101, ANSI, ADA, FHA and BOMA guidelines.
  • 3 years experience coordinating with relevant regulatory/governmental authorities to achieve entitlement approvals related to zoning and building.
  • 2 years experience in leading the design of projects.
  • 2 years experience with AutoCAD.
  • 2 years experience with Revit.
  • 2 years experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2 years experience with Newforma Project Center.
  • 2 years experience with Affinity Design software.
  • 2 years experience with Sketch-up.
  • 2 years experience with Lumion.
  • 2 years experience with Enscape.
  • 2 years experience with In-design.
  • 2 years experience with Illustrator.
  • 2 years experience with Bluebeam.
  • Must obtain LEED, EDAC or WELL accreditation post-hire.

Responsibilities

  • Creates project designs and plans for all phases of projects.
  • Coordinates building design consultants while monitoring drawings.
  • Develops and represents the lead technical viewpoint on projects.
  • Coordinates with Director and Department Head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Coordinates all trades and agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings.
  • Manages projects and leads a team in development of the aesthetic design and the preparation of architectural design including drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborates with or serves as the Project Designer for the design of the project.
  • Develops a working process with the team that ensures that the design intent of a project is maintained for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates the work of design consultants, and serves as liaison with Project Management, other Architects and consultants.
  • Meets with client and present design presentations.
  • Coordinate with relevant regulatory/governmental authorities to achieve entitlement approvals related to zoning and building.
  • Mentors junior staff.
