About The Position

STV is seeking an Architectural Designer for its Water division in the Waco, TX office. The role involves working with architectural and engineering teams to prepare documents for new construction and renovation projects, specifically focusing on building projects and architectural features within water/wastewater treatment plants, heavy civil, municipal, private sector, and environmental facilities. The ideal candidate will possess architectural experience and assist with Architectural Design work from concept design through construction documentation, requiring interface and collaboration. Responsibilities include preparing architectural drawings, utilizing strong knowledge of building technology, executing code analysis, material selections, coordinating with specifications writers, and conducting site and construction inspections. The role also involves planning, scheduling, coordinating, managing, and assisting the work of lower-level architects.

Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Architecture
  • Proficiency with ACC/BIM 360 / Revit and Microsoft Office Suite are required.
  • Excellent design capabilities and strong verbal and visual communication skills, along with a strong capacity for generating technical details that are constructible.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD, Enscape, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Lumion, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite experience are a plus.
  • Progress towards Architectural licensure is very desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Architectural Design work from concept design through construction documentation for projects requiring interface and collaboration.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, utilizing a strong knowledge of building technology; and/or supervises their execution for all phases of a project.
  • Execute code analysis, material selections, and coordinates with specifications writer.
  • Conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, and preparation of design reports.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and assist the work of lower-level architects who assist with projects.
  • Develop design details, plans and specifications.
  • Contribute new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
  • Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
  • Determine collectively with project management, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
