Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (accredited program) and typically 12+ years of related US work experience.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Autodesk Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with architecture is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
  • Experience in architectural design to include industrial, office, dormitory, medical, detention, and food preparation facilities on US Government projects.
  • Registered Architect.
  • High level with proficiency in reading and applying building codes, including UFC.
  • Strong design acumen and ability to design to specific program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical direction to a team of Architects and design personnel engaged in all phases of a large architectural project. Responsible for the technical excellence of the architectural tasks and analyses performed, and for on-schedule completion in accordance to contractual obligations.
  • Efficiently and accurately completes a variety of architectural assignments such as preparation of 3D models and drawings in Autodesk Revit, specifications via SpecsIntact, and other design deliverables suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Extracts or coordinates engineering information from CAD drawings and 3D building models.
  • Prepares material selection and quantity takeoffs, cost estimate coordination, site surveys, and designs based on provided client needs.
  • Interfaces with Engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design products and with other departments to support procurement and construction activities.
  • Prepares detailed requisitions for construction services, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepares engineering responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and may work directly with construction teams to resolve issues and/or revise design products during construction.
  • Provides technical guidance to 3D Model Designers, BIM Specialist and lower-level Architects working on the same project.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
