This job is responsible for defining and maintaining a business architecture that supports the organization's strategic process transformation objectives. Key responsibilities include translating complex operational workflows into normalized "Process Objects", aligning business needs to enterprise capabilities, maintaining process and capability taxonomies, and enabling horizontal solutions designed across business functions. The Senior Architect facilitates a translation layer between operational subject matter experts, process intelligence teams, enterprise architecture, and technology partners, ensuring business requirements are articulated independently of the systems currently used to execute them. Job expectations include working across business, operations, technology, and transformation teams to evaluate operational needs, identify reusable capability patterns, develop enterprise process intelligence assets, and support future-state solution design. The role requires balancing operational fluency with architectural literacy while remaining neutral to specific technologies, platforms, or implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
  • Defines, governs, and maintains "Process Objects" and related operational architecture artifacts, ensuring consistent representation of core business capabilities across products, processes, and functions
  • Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
  • Clarifies the architecture, assists with system process design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any procedural/architectural impediments
  • Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
  • Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
  • Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions facilitate the alignment of business needs and technical capabilities for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
  • Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
  • Elevates cross-functional process patterns and identifies opportunities for capability reuse, standardization, simplification, and horizontal solution design.
