About The Position

Advantest is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Applications Engineer to provide technical leadership and support for its V93000 Semiconductor Test Systems. The role works closely with customers and partners to deliver test solutions, support successful implementations, and influence business outcomes through technical expertise. The engineer leads technical customer engagements across the sales and support lifecycle, analyzes requirements, designs and validates solutions, and helps integrate Advantest products into customer test environments. The role also coordinates resources and project deliverables, provides training and consultation, and shares insights about emerging technologies with global technical teams. The focus areas include analog and power device technologies, semiconductor test systems and applications, test program development and conversion, system-level integration and optimization, and production device deployment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor testing.
Strong understanding of semiconductor devices and proven test-program debugging skills.
Proficiency in Java programming and working knowledge of Linux environments.
Ability to quickly learn and develop test programs using high-level APIs in Java or C++.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven, team-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.

Nice To Haves

Experience with V93000 SmarTest 8 platforms.
Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or GitHub Copilot.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
Knowledge of analog and power device testing.
Hands-on experience with the V93000 platform.
Demonstrated experience leading technical projects.

Responsibilities

Lead technical engagements throughout the sales and support lifecycle, including requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, competitive benchmarking, and solution implementation.
Ensure Advantest products meet customer specifications and integrate into customer test environments.
Analyze complex customer requirements and advise on performance, design optimization, test program development, and implementation strategies.
Design and validate test solutions aligned with customer business objectives.
Identify and coordinate internal and external resources to deliver comprehensive customer solutions on time and to a high standard.
Serve as a technical liaison between customers and Advantest field and factory teams, representing customer needs and feedback.
Develop and manage project plans for complex engagements, tracking milestones and deliverables.
Deliver customer technical training and consultation, including creating training materials and documentation.
Stay current with emerging technologies and share insights with global technical teams.
Build customer relationships by delivering technical value and serving as a trusted advisor in customer decision-making.
