About The Position
Altech Solutions is hiring a senior engineer to manage application packaging, software deployment, and endpoint management at the NASA Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Facility in Fairmont, West Virginia. The engineer will keep more than 100 applications packaged, deployed, patched, and compliant across IV&V workstations and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). The primary tools are Flexera AdminStudio, Quest KACE SMA, and HCL BigFix. The role also manages the IT Services SharePoint site and its Power Automate workflows. This is a senior, hands-on position that guides the work of other developers on the team. The position is full-time, on-site at the NASA IV&V Facility. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, and already live within 50 miles of Fairmont, WV. Relocation is not provided. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of professional IT or software development experience.
- At least 5 years of Windows application packaging and software distribution experience.
- Proficiency with Flexera AdminStudio.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Quest KACE SMA (K1000) administration, plus BigFix administration experience.
- Experience writing custom BigFix Relevance queries and Action Scripts.
- At least 3 years of PowerShell and VBScript experience, including KScripts.
- At least 3 years of web application development and maintenance experience.
- At least 3 years building and maintaining Power Automate workflows.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Client, Active Directory/GPO, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Basic MS SQL Server administration knowledge as it relates to BigFix.
- Disciplined change-management practices and clear communication at every level.
- U.S. citizenship is required; non-citizens, including green card holders and visa holders, are not eligible.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
- Must already live within 50 miles of Fairmont, WV; relocation is not provided.

Responsibilities
- Package, maintain, and support more than 100 applications on IV&V workstations and VDI.
- Convert .exe and legacy installers into silent MSI packages and MST transforms using AdminStudio Repackager.
- Write PowerShell and VBScript custom actions for complex configurations and registry changes.
- Debug installation failures, analyze MSI logs, resolve file and registry conflicts, and test packages on clean virtual machines.
- Edit and validate MSI tables in AdminStudio to resolve Internal Consistency Errors (ICEs).
- Operate virtual and physical KACE SMA appliances, including updates, maintenance, and the KACE Agent lifecycle.
- Deploy applications and scripts using KACE SMA, including Verify and Remediation logic to automatically correct compliance issues.
- Run discovery scans and inventory, reconcile software licenses, and produce compliance audits.
- Build Smart Labels using advanced filters and LDAP queries.
- Write custom SQL reports on hardware lifecycle, patch levels, and software compliance.
- Maintain KACE Service Desk queues, workflows, and the knowledge base.
- Maintain BigFix core servers, relays, and database, and tune the relay hierarchy for bandwidth.
- Troubleshoot BigFix agent connectivity and deployment failures.
- Write and test BigFix Fixlets and tasks, and manage third-party application patching.
- Produce BigFix compliance reports for leadership and audit teams.
- Manage the IT Services SharePoint site, including libraries, lists, metadata columns, and item-level permissions.
- Build and maintain Power Automate flows connecting SharePoint to Power Apps and external REST APIs.
- Monitor Power Automate flow run history and resolve integration errors.
- Track NASA SOC Mitigation Action Requirements (MARs) and address vulnerabilities as directed by the Agency.
- Run daily system and patch compliance checks.
- Attend bi-weekly CSET BigFix meetings.
- Guide the work of other developers on the team.
