Senior Application Engineer
About The Position
Zones is seeking a hands-on senior application engineer to design, build, and deliver a focused application that connects to databases and enterprise systems through APIs. The application will use returned information to provide customer-facing answers, trigger automated workflows, create or update ServiceNow and other internal-platform tickets, and capture operational telemetry for monitoring and reporting. The engineer will translate requirements into a secure, supportable solution and carry the project from technical design through deployment and knowledge transfer. The position is based in Redmond, Washington, for a term of 8+ months, with hours of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST and pay of $90.00–$110.00, commensurate with experience. The role involves application architecture and integration design, API development, automation and orchestration, ServiceNow integration, security controls, operational monitoring, testing, deployment, documentation, and knowledge transfer. The role calls for experience across Azure development, programming, databases, telemetry, AI and agentic development, device and network troubleshooting, and production support. AV systems and related control-platform experience are preferred. Requirements
- Experience with C#/.NET and/or Python.
- Experience in Azure application development.
- Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and App Service.
- Experience with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and API integration.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL and telemetry data.
- Experience with ServiceNow API and workflow integration.
- Experience with Power Platform/Power Automate.
- Experience with Power BI integration.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams integration.
- Experience with Azure Monitor/Application Insights.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure development.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, or agentic development.
- Experience with RAG and AI grounding.
- Experience with IoT/device telemetry and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with IP networking, VLANs, and device/API troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating monitoring or hardware-management platforms.
- Experience with authentication, RBAC, secrets management, and auditing.
- Experience with production support, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Ability to translate requirements into a secure, supportable solution.

Responsibilities
- Design the application architecture and integration approach.
