About The Position

Fiserv is seeking a Senior Application Analyst to support enterprise mainframe applications that power its core financial services platforms. The role applies technical expertise and problem-solving skills to maintain system reliability, performance, and compliance in a fast-paced, SLA-driven production environment.

The analyst modifies, tests, and supports mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment; reviews designs and source code; implements and tests critical changes; tunes application performance; and troubleshoots production issues, including root cause analysis and defect correction. The role also collaborates with remote, cross-functional teams, provides project and task updates, and creates and maintains technical and operational documentation. Responsibilities may be modified as necessary.

The position provides on-call rotational support and requires use of a computer and audio equipment. Under contractual obligations, the candidate must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident and able to obtain and maintain an extended background check. The listed salary range is $90,000–$158,400 for employees in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington; ranges in other states may differ. Eligible associates may receive an annual incentive opportunity, potentially delivered as cash bonus and equity awards at the Company’s discretion.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on experience in an IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environment.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience deploying fixes in SLA-driven production environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience creating technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain and maintain an extended background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with DB2 utilities, IDCAMS, SyncSort, File-Master, or CICS.
• Experience with FTP / NDM file transmission.
• Experience with REXX, Endevor, Clarity, or Jira.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, or SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Modify, test, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL (DB2), and CICS in an IBM z/OS environment.
• Review application designs and source code to assist with testing, debugging, and production readiness.
• Code and test high-priority and critical changes in support of business and operational requirements.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications to maintain stability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and defect correction.
• Collaborate with remote and cross-functional team members to deliver reliable application support.
• Provide regular project and task status updates to project managers and related stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical and operational documentation to support ongoing application maintenance.
• Provide on-call rotational support.
