Bring your intelligence and creative spirit and join us at MPD! The Antenna Systems Department is engaged in modeling & simulation along with prototyping & testbed development. The range of work includes CubeSat antenna systems, ground station support, spacecraft antenna design & modeling, construction of prototypes and pattern measurements in our anechoic chambers. We help our government customers execute missions of national interest and define future missions. We work closely with our colleagues to develop software defined radio (SDR) communication systems (transmitter & receivers), and RF systems in support of prototyping and customer developments. We are looking for a Senior Antenna Systems Engineer (Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a relevant technical discipline
  • 8 or more years of related experience in Antenna/RF System design, analysis and testing
  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Proficiency with a variety of analysis tools such as ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS, Feko, CST, and/or GRASP
  • 12 or more years of related experience in Antenna/RF System design, analysis, and testing

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree from an accredited program in a relevant technical discipline
  • Experience with ground stations
  • Proficiency in scientific programming using languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, Python
  • Experience leading projects related to antenna systems, radar systems, SIGINT processing, communication systems, and hardware prototyping
  • Work with metamaterials
  • Experience with MEDA antennas
  • Involvement with RCS measurements

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in RF systems, antennas, and receive and transmit systems
  • Solve technical problems in the areas of communications, signals collection, and remote sensing
  • Engage our customers with impact to solve our hardest problems
  • Use your technical abilities and insights to foster innovation, ensure success of current programs and influence future missions
  • Operate strategically by supporting our DoD and Intelligence Community customers
  • Works both independently and as a leader of project teams
  • Experience measuring antennas in an anechoic chamber
  • Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and payloads
  • Demonstrated experience leading development projects and mentoring junior staff
  • Proven ability to architect and implement antenna and RF and antenna system solutions with real-world performance requirements
