About The Position

The Senior Ansible Automation Engineer will join a dynamic team building and enhancing an enterprise Ansible Automation Platform. The role serves as a fully seasoned technical resource and individual contributor, responsible for components of complex engineering and analytical work. It includes developing controls for automation platforms, with a focus on shared content catalogs across enterprise tools, and implementing a software development lifecycle (SDLC) chain for managing automation content. The position participates in the design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, including technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities. It considers applications and platforms across the organizational portfolio to identify alignment and opportunities to augment complete service offerings. The engineer will incorporate multiple AI channels into standard practices to support productivity, consistency, and quality across individual deliverables and the technology community of practice. The role has no direct reports, but may influence or direct teams involved in special initiatives or operations and provide input on staffing, budgets, and personnel. The position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a long-term opportunity. The interview process includes two virtual rounds; an onsite interview may also be requested.

Requirements

Typically, 5 or more years of top-tier systems engineering experience.
At least 5 years of expert-level Unix/Linux administration and scripting experience.
At least 5 years of Ansible Automation Platform experience.
At least 5 years of demonstrable Python or similar scripting experience.
Experience with YAML, XML, Python, Perl, and shell scripting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior management.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple groups to gather business requirements for product evidence and license compliance.
Strong analytical, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic business environment.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals across all regions of the organization.
Ability to understand complex application infrastructure and model it for compliance reporting.
Ability to work as a strong team player committed to overall organizational goals.

Nice To Haves

Experience with GitHub Copilot.
TrueSight Server Automation (BladeLogic) experience, which would help with current engineering support needs and planning and preparation for transition to Ansible.
