About The Position

RISA is hiring an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to build and operate the platform supporting its customer’s mission. This on-site role involves designing, building, and maintaining virtualized and containerized infrastructure, with a focus on Kubernetes, Ansible, Linux, and automation across the server lifecycle. The engineer will work directly with customers from planning through maintenance and support development teams as they onboard to the Kubernetes platform. The position is based in Springfield, Virginia, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship. The hire must also be able to obtain and maintain a Government polygraph after starting. The role includes an on-call rotation that may involve nights and weekends, and local travel of less than 10%. Salary range is $117,000–$128,000.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.
Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Government polygraph after hire.
Meet the contract labor category education and experience criteria: a bachelor's degree in an applicable field plus 6 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree plus 4 years; an associate's degree plus 8 years; or a high school diploma/GED plus 10 years.
IAT Level II certification.
Ability to obtain CSSP Infrastructure Support within 120 days of hire.
Advanced Linux skills.
4 or more years of experience in one or more of the following: Kubernetes; Salt or Ansible; YAML, Python, Bash, or Ruby; Git.
Willingness to work an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, build, and maintenance of virtualized and containerized infrastructure.
Mature automation across the server lifecycle, including onboarding, patching, and sunsetting.
Build and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure and onboard development teams onto it.
Administer Ansible and Salt, and develop related documentation and training.
Keep CI/CD performant and current.
Perform root cause analysis on escalated issues.
Work directly with customers from planning through maintenance.
