Senior Android Engineer - Fan Monetization
About The Position
SoundCloud is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join its Fan Monetization team, which builds features that deepen connections between fans and creators and help fans engage with and support their favorite artists. The role is part of a global team collaborating with engineering and product partners in locations including London and Berlin, and focuses on delivering high-quality Android experiences to users worldwide. The engineer will work almost exclusively with modern Kotlin and Jetpack Compose components to build clean, responsive user interfaces and high-impact fan-facing features. The team embraces AI-assisted development to streamline coding, reviews, and testing. The role also involves collaboration across product, design, and data, contributing to feature experimentation and analytics, and maintaining high engineering standards. Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building Android applications.
- A solid foundation in Kotlin and strong familiarity with Jetpack Compose.
- Excitement about using AI development assistants to improve productivity, code quality, and learning.
- Ability to work in agile, distributed teams, communicate proactively, and break down problems into elegant, maintainable code.
- Love of music and mobile products, and interest in helping creators build closer bonds with their audience.

- Openness or curiosity about occasionally learning or collaborating across other technology stacks, such as iOS, Web, or Backend (Go).
Responsibilities
- Develop and scale SoundCloud's fan-facing Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Use advanced AI tools safely, securely, and responsibly to accelerate coding workflows, code reviews, and testing.
- Partner with product, design, and data teams across international offices to define, build, and iterate on features.
- Participate in feature scoping, product experimentation including A/B testing, analytics integration, and agile delivery to optimize user engagement.
- Participate in code reviews and apply engineering best practices to maintain performance, accessibility, and platform consistency.
