About The Position

IcyBox is hiring a Senior Android Developer to build and own its Android app. The role will shape how customers browse, buy, and open their boxes, and help create an exciting digital unboxing experience. The position is in person at the company’s New York City office five days a week.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Android development experience, including apps shipped to the Google Play Store.
• Expertise in Android development and React Native.
• Experience with testing, CI, and app performance tuning.
• A sharp eye for UI, animation, and user experience.
• Comfort owning features end to end.

Nice To Haves

• E-commerce or consumer app experience.
• Experience with in-app payments and Google Pay.
• Experience building animations and reveal moments that delight users.
• Experience with analytics, A/B testing, and feature flags.
• iOS or cross-platform experience.
• Experience using AI coding tools effectively in daily workflow.
• Startup or high-growth company experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship new features in the Android React Native app.
• Own app performance, stability, and crash rate.
• Write clean, tested Rust and React Native code and review teammates’ code.
• Work with product and design to turn ideas into polished experiences.
• Integrate with backend APIs, payments, and push notifications.
• Manage releases to the Google Play Store.
• Help set Android architecture and best practices as the team grows.
