About The Position

Lighthouse is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their Data Analytics team. This role involves designing and building trusted data models across commercial and financial domains, supporting go-to-market teams with deal, account, and opportunity modeling, and assisting finance with revenue, retention, and churn analysis. The position requires end-to-end ownership from requirements through implementation and documentation, with responsible use of AI tools to accelerate work while ensuring output quality. Collaboration with commercial, finance, and analytics stakeholders is key. The Data Analytics team at Lighthouse is responsible for understanding the business by transforming internal data into insights that guide decision-making at all levels, building the data architecture, models, and reporting that track business performance.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in analytics engineering, data warehousing, or a closely related role.
  • Ability to operate independently with limited overlap across time zones.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience building robust, understandable data models.
  • Practical experience with dbt or another data transformation tool.
  • Understanding of core data warehousing principles and ability to architect models across commercial and financial domains.
  • Ability to gather requirements, perform functional analysis, and translate stakeholder questions into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work directly with both technical and non-technical leaders, adapting communication to be concise and clear.
  • Basic Python scripting skills or ability to critically review scripts produced with artificial intelligence assistance.
  • Effective and thoughtful use of AI in day-to-day development, review, documentation, and presentation processes, including questioning outputs, handling data with care, and remaining accountable.
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of AI tools and ability to provide clear and structured feedback on them.
  • Understanding of how reliable data foundations support agentic frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, or conversational analytics.
  • Comfort supporting colleagues and explaining technical needs across teams without formal management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build trusted data models across Lighthouse's commercial and financial domains, modeling deals, accounts, and opportunities for go-to-market teams.
  • Support revenue, retention, and churn analysis for finance.
  • Own delivery end-to-end from requirements through implementation and documentation.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate work while remaining accountable for output quality.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, finance, and analytics stakeholders.
  • Model deals, accounts, regions, products, and expansion opportunities to provide go-to-market teams with a consistent view.
  • Support analysis of revenue, customer lifetime value, retention, expansion, and churn.
  • Act as a technical point of contact to speed up decision-making by responding quickly to commercial, finance, and business operations stakeholders.
  • Apply strong SQL, transformation, and data modeling practices to produce maintainable, understandable assets.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into practical solutions that fit the existing stack, owning the full cycle (functional analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, documentation, and ongoing improvement).
  • Apply AI to coding, solution design, and problem-solving, critically reviewing outputs and owning the final result.
  • Build reliable data foundations that support strategic analytics and AI-enabled products (agentic frameworks, RAG, conversational analytics).
  • Work with sales operations, commercial systems, financial operations, and analytics colleagues to align on data needs and technical direction.
