About The Position

Attentive is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to build and maintain analytics capabilities that support business and operational decision-making across the organization. The role develops executive-facing dashboards, scalable data models, semantic layers, reporting datasets, and the Looker analytics platform, using dbt, Looker, SQL, and related tools. It also applies data modeling, statistics, and analytical techniques to large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. The position owns analytics engineering initiatives end to end, from gathering requirements through implementation, while coordinating timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communications. It partners with teams across product, engineering, business intelligence, finance, and operations to define metrics, analytics requirements, reporting solutions, and data quality expectations. The engineer also improves data reliability and analytics processes, documents analytics assets and workflows, and mentors junior analytics engineers. This is a 100% remote position for candidates residing in the United States. The role reports to headquarters in New York, NY. The stated U.S. base salary range is $144,414–$183,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
At least 4 years of professional experience as a Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or other data analytics or business intelligence professional involving data analysis, data modeling, reporting, and dashboards.
4 years of professional experience writing, optimizing, and using SQL queries to analyze large datasets and support reporting and analytics.
4 years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and reports using visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
4 years of professional experience analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and support business decisions.
4 years of professional experience developing dashboards or reports to support business and operational decision-making.
3 years of professional experience designing and maintaining data models for analytics and reporting.
2 years of professional experience working with data infrastructure components, including ETL/ELT processes and analytics platforms.
2 years of professional experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to define analytics requirements and reporting solutions.
2 years of professional experience presenting analytical findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Build robust, executive-facing dashboards to support key business and operational decisions across the organization.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets using dbt, Looker, SQL, and related tools.
Use data modeling, statistics, and other analytical techniques to analyze large datasets and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Develop and manage the data analytics platform, Looker.
Own end-to-end delivery of analytics engineering initiatives across functional domains, from requirements gathering through implementation, proactively managing timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.
Partner with product, engineering, business intelligence, finance, operations, and other stakeholders to define metrics, analytics requirements, reporting solutions, and data quality expectations.
Identify and resolve data quality issues by implementing validation checks, improving data reliability, and enhancing analytics processes and tooling.
Create and maintain documentation for metrics, data models, dashboards, business logic, and analytics workflows.
Mentor junior analytics engineers, provide actionable feedback, contribute to code reviews, and improve team standards.
