About the position
Articulate Global LLC is seeking an Analytics Engineer to transform data into self-serve data artifacts, enabling cross-functional data consumers to find the right data set for analysis and obtain quick answers through a self-service data platform. The role involves building the data foundation for reporting and analysis, as well as improving Articulate's data literacy and infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading data transformation, designing and optimizing data models, performing data exploration and analysis, developing data analytics tools and methodologies, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to enhance existing models and streamline processes. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering, proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools like dbt and Looker/Tableau, and a strong understanding of the modern data stack.
Responsibilities
- Lead the (dbt) data transformation roadmap and implementation
- Provide clean data ready for analysis by transforming, testing, deploying, and publishing data-related documentation
- Design and optimize data models to ensure integrity, accuracy, and availability of data for analysis and reporting
- Propagate analytics layer into visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau
- Perform data exploration, statistical analysis, and data mining to identify trends, patterns, and insights for business growth and efficiency
- Develop and implement data analytics tools, frameworks, and methodologies for self-service analytics
- Build and implement processes for technical QA on analytics/reporting tools
- Partner with Data Engineering and Data Science in modeling Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Partner with Data Engineering in monitoring and analyzing model performance and data accuracy
- Partner with Data Engineering in managing tech debt and supporting existing solutions
- Train business users on how to use data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau
- Operationalize Machine Learning data output
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in analytics engineering and visualization
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance existing models, streamline processes, and uncover untapped needs
- Support a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Write complex SQL queries, run ad-hoc data discovery, and build data models
- Use programming languages like Python, R, Javascript, or Java for data analysis
- Understand the modern data stack and data warehouse platforms (Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery)
- Gather business requirements, create ad-hoc reports, and design scalable solutions
- Foster collaborative relationships and support cross-functional teams
- Evangelize best practices and creative problem-solving

Requirements
- Proven experience (7+ years) in a Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering role, preferably within a fast-paced tech company or data-driven organization.
- Expertise in SQL (writing and analyzing complex queries)
- Expertise in Data Build Tool (dbt), Looker/Tableau (defining data models and measures)
- 7+ years of experience working with data, ideally partnering with business stakeholders
- Ability to write complex SQL, run ad-hoc data discovery, and build data models
- Experience in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g. Python, R, Javascript, Java)
- Strong understanding of the various components of the modern data stack, including data warehouse platforms (Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery)
- Experience in gathering business requirements, creating ad-hoc reports, and designing scalable solutions to automate those ad-hoc reports
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships and support cross-functional teams throughout the company
- A passion for evangelizing best practices and creative problem-solving
- Able to thrive in a remote work environment and can manage and prioritize multiple initiatives
- Willingness to adapt to changing needs, and ability to quickly learn new business models/technologies

Benefits
- Pay range of $119,900 to $178,400 for all US locations
