Senior Analyst, Configuration
About The Position
Oscar is hiring a Senior Analyst to join its Claims and Benefits Team. The role supports the business by improving the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of platforms, systems, and processes. By understanding platform configuration capabilities, the Senior Analyst helps ensure processes are configured accurately. The position reports to the Manager, Configuration Operations. The role is based in Oscar’s Tempe, Arizona office and follows a hybrid schedule requiring three in-office days per week. Thursday is required for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of health plan benefit concepts, such as deductibles, copays, and other forms of cost sharing.
- At least 1 year of SQL experience.
- At least 1 year of claims processing experience.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or comparable programs in the Google Docs Editors suite.
- At least 1 year of Jira experience.
- Experience working in the health insurance industry or with claims.
- Experience working with Jira.
- SQL proficiency.
- Python experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and summarize process behavior to expedite design and solutioning.
- Translate configuration needs to enable internal teams to resolve escalations.
- Process incoming Jira tickets to support member escalation resolution.
- Identify and pilot opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Triage and manage workflows of ingested items.
- Investigate escalations through incoming tickets or informal pathways.
- Conduct necessary maintenance work and take on ad hoc projects associated with contract configuration.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Approve work-in-progress contract configuration inquiries to ensure configuration is possible.
- Assist with continued documentation and implementation of workflow updates and processes.
