About The Position

Oscar is hiring a Senior Analyst to join its Claims and Benefits Team. The role supports the business by improving the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of platforms, systems, and processes. By understanding platform configuration capabilities, the Senior Analyst helps ensure processes are configured accurately. The position reports to the Manager, Configuration Operations. This role is based in Oscar’s Tempe, Arizona office and follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week. Thursdays are required in-office for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible. The annual base pay range is $67,813–$89,004. The role is also eligible for employee benefits, Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Requirements

At least 2 years of working knowledge of health plan benefit concepts, such as deductibles, copays, and other forms of cost sharing.
At least 1 year of SQL experience.
At least 1 year of claims processing experience.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or comparable programs in the Google Docs Editors suite, such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
At least 1 year of experience with Jira.
Experience working in the health insurance industry or with claims.
Experience working with Jira.
SQL proficiency.
Python experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze and summarize process behavior to expedite design and solutioning.
Translate configuration needs to enable internal teams to resolve escalations.
Process incoming Jira tickets to support member escalation resolution.
Identify and pilot opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Triage and manage workflows of ingested items.
Investigate escalations received through incoming tickets or informal pathways.
Conduct maintenance work and take on ad hoc projects associated with contract configuration.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Approve work-in-progress contract configuration inquiries to ensure configuration is possible.
Assist with continued documentation and implementation of workflow updates and processes.
