Senior Analyst – Structured Finance, Colorado, New York or Toronto

S&P GlobalToronto, ON
$92,000 - $121,000Hybrid

About The Position

S&P Global Ratings' Structured Finance and Alternative Investment Funds team evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures, analyzing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash-flow mechanics, and stress scenarios. The team delivers credit opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, providing market-relevant perspectives on performance trends and issuance conditions across a growing and evolving sector. This role involves leading end-to-end credit analysis and surveillance for assigned structured finance credits, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery with clear accountability for outputs and priorities. It also requires synthesizing portfolio performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-ready insights that support rating committee discussions and risk assessments. A key aspect of the role is embedding and validating generative AI and large language model tools within analytical workflows, while maintaining human accountability for all conclusions and material risk judgments. The analyst will prepare and review analytical inputs, reconcile metrics, and document assumptions to ensure adherence to methodologies and standard operating procedures. Additionally, the role involves engaging with external stakeholders alongside senior team members, translating complex data and analysis into clear, evidence-based narratives for clients and rating committees, and preparing well-structured, committee-ready materials. Risk management and operating responsibilities include consistently applying methodology, confidentiality, and data governance requirements, escalating issues early with clear recommendations to protect analytical integrity, and contributing to the responsible design and testing of automation and AI-enabled workflows, maintaining clear boundaries between what can be automated and what requires human judgment.
