About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Search Measurement and Analytics owns measurement, analysis, and causal inference for CarMax’s paid search programs, covering vehicle sales and vehicle sourcing. The role determines whether paid search results are caused by advertising rather than merely correlated with it, and provides rigorous, defensible analysis to guide investment and strategy. Working with a Senior Manager and a small analyst team, the analyst has significant autonomy and informs decisions made by media activation, planning, and program leads. The position includes designing and interpreting tests, independently validating agency-reported results, translating ambiguous business questions into recommendations, and developing trusted data foundations, statistical models, and dashboards. The analyst also contributes to monthly mROI curve builds, budget recommendations, portfolio-level allocation, and cross-channel measurement discussions involving methods such as media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, and incrementality testing. The position is onsite in Richmond, Virginia, four days per week. Sponsorship is not available.
