About The Position

The Senior Analyst – Risk Management position supports key risk management processes including transaction risk evaluation, risk policies and procedures, quantitative and analytical business support, risk monitoring and reporting, market fundamental analysis, operational risk, new trading and hedging products, and enterprise risk management. This role involves evaluating investments and PPAs, managing risk limit breaches, participating in policy reviews, providing analytical support, and monitoring market and operational risks. The position also manages credit risk and other business risks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field of study
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in industry and/or risk management.
Familiarity with electric power and natural gas trading
Ability to interact well with other parts of the business
Investment and financial analysis experience
Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Sungard’s Aligne/ZaiNet system is desired
Master's Degree in a related field of study.
Programming skills are desired
ERM course study and/or certification(s)

Responsibilities

Perform risk analyses of new deals including investments and PPAs.
Investigate and help manage risk limit breaches and violations.
Participate in annual Risk Policies and Risk Procedures revisions.
Provide quantitative and analytical support to the business as needed.
Assist in the production of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports of key risks and exposures.
Answer ad hoc data requests and prepare reports/presentations on risk topics as requested.
