Senior Analyst – Microsoft Fabric Implementation

AllstateQuebec, QC
CA$77,200 - CA$121,800Hybrid

About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Analytics and Data Enablement, you will lead Microsoft Fabric–based data modeling initiatives, leveraging the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to efficiently manage and transform data across its lifecycle. You will apply advanced analytics and integration capabilities to design, build, and maintain robust semantic models, automate end-end data pipelines, and ensure high-quality, trusted data assets. The candidate will require an in-depth understanding of the data structure and environment as well as the implications of insurance business processes on regulatory reporting outcomes. The candidate will also foster efficiency, bring forward creative solutions, and create awareness of opportunities to strengthen data quality and enablement across reporting initiatives. A proactive approach, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to think beyond standard approaches are expected.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric: proven experience in dataset consolidation, dataflow development, and Python notebooks, enabling the design of robust data pipelines, transformation workflows, and scalable analytics solutions.
  • Data Integration & Modeling: Strong expertise in data integration and semantic modeling, with a solid foundation in dimensional modeling, normalization, referential integrity, and star/snowflake schema design to build well-structured, scalable models for efficient BI reporting and analytics.
  • SQL & Python: Proven ability to leverage Python within Microsoft Fabric for scalable data processing, automation, and advanced analytics, alongside strong SQL capabilities to design and optimize high-performance queries across Lakehouse and Warehouse layers, enabling efficient and reliable analytics solutions.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; detail‑oriented with a disciplined approach to quality, controls, and documentation
  • Training and Communication: Strong ability to document data processes and communicate insights clearly, while collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and preparing training resources for stakeholders to drive effective adoption and usage.
  • Data Governance: Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and familiar with Informatica IDMC
  • BI Tools: Proven experience with Power BI, specializing in semantic model development within Microsoft Fabric workspaces and advanced DAX for complex calculations and KPIs. Skilled in designing high-performance data models, optimizing query performance, and delivering interactive, scalable dashboards that drive business insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with insurance/actuarial data will be considered a plus.
  • Microsoft Fabric Certification and demonstrating validated expertise in building data pipelines and analytics is nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain semantic models (Lakehouses, Warehouses) that integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency, quality, and governance.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) raw data using Fabric Dataflows, Pipelines, or T-SQL
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Operational Analytics teams to ensure semantic data models are effectively aligned with business requirements and scalable technical capabilities.
  • Implement and enhance internal data processes by automating manual workflows, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning database structures to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Utilize Fabric’s integrated tools (SQL, Python, KQL, DAX, Power BI) to explore, analyze, and interpret data, answering “why” and “what next” questions rather than just “what happened”.
  • Build interactive dashboards, summaries, and reports in Power BI to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • To convert legacy SAS/SQL processes into Microsoft Fabric data pipelines and curated datasets to enhance scalability, performance, and data delivery efficiency.
  • Proven expertise in building modern data platforms including data integration, semantic modeling, and scalable pipelines for delivering curated datasets.
  • Leverage Fabric IQ Data Agents, Copilot, and AI workflows to auto-generate DAX, summaries, and dashboards, and to explore data through natural language
