About The Position

Vancouver Clinic is hiring a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer. This role involves setting up, managing, and optimizing the Clinic’s Microsoft Fabric environment, including workspaces and data lakes. The engineer will support data analytics, reporting, and integration with clinical and non-clinical third-party systems. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA. The position will initially require on-site work and will transition to an off-site schedule after a training period, provided the employee meets the requirements for remote work, including residing in the local Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR area with a secure home network.

Requirements

  • Washington or Oregon resident.
  • Available to work on site as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Lake, data integration, and cloud-based data services.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience managing Microsoft Fabric environments, with a focus on data lakes, workspaces, and integration from third-party systems.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Microsoft Azure or Data Lakes.
  • Ability to work, with or without reasonable accommodation, with a diverse population of patients and colleagues seeking or considering care in all areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare data experience.
  • Familiarity with interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or similar certification.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry with knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
