About The Position

The Credit Ratings team is a vital part of Global Ratings Services, with 1,400 analysts in major financial centers globally, focused on delivering high-quality insights and client service across all industries. S&P Global Rating’s North America infrastructure practice is experiencing rapid growth, driven by new financings and refinancing activities for essential infrastructure. This role offers the chance to work on complex structures in fast-growing market segments like power, midstream, refining, and digital infrastructure, contributing to S&P Global Ratings’ significant coverage of the global infrastructure sector. Analysts will leverage their corporate credit and project finance expertise to support capital formation for this critical sector. Requirements

  • Developing and articulating credit views and managing a portfolio of credits, preparing committee-ready materials and actively participating in rating committees for credits across the spectrum of the North America infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrating service excellence and professionalism including preparing for and participating in management meetings, due diligence calls, and surveillance discussions to obtain information supporting credit analysis and rating decisions and drafting and driving publication of high-quality rating reports.
  • Contributing to sector expertise and supporting thought leadership by contributing to commentaries and sector publications and through participation in regional and global analytical work groups and by staying current on market developments affecting North American infrastructure and supporting senior analysts in external analytical engagements.
  • Ownership/execution maturity across multiple credits; delivers high quality with limited oversight and models values-led behavior.
  • Strong collaboration/relationship management; influences through credibility and constructive challenge.
  • Coaching capability that improves team consistency through shared standards and tools.

  • Three to five years’ of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance/coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling and reinforcing values-led behaviors.
  • Drive consistency/scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption to strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.
  • Strengthen AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations that free capacity for human analysis and relationship work.
  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps without compromising governance or judgement.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance-by-design, controls, and adoption support.
  • Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery across priorities with clear accountability.
  • Own surveillance/updates for assigned portfolio, synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights and clear implications for risk.
  • Support LLM tools/automation being embedded to accelerate workflows, followed by structured validation and refinement using analytical judgement to maintain trusted conclusions.
  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.
  • Prepare/review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions/changes to ensure adherence to methodologies/standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare/review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology/sector frameworks and evidentiary standards.
  • Support maintenance/review of models to ensure robustness and repeatability and clear linkage to risk views.
  • Engage with external parties alongside senior team members.
  • Craft client and executive-ready stories that translate complex data, analysis, and research into a clear narrative.
  • Advise on issues within clear parameters, integrating and communicating complex information to convey S&P’s analytical expertise and drive engagement with market participants.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative and adaptable delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to methodology/confidentiality/data governance; escalate issues early with options/recommendations to protect integrity and trust.
  • Embed responsible, governed AI use: approved tools/data only; protect confidential info.
  • Drive controlled automation/agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements/controls, supporting testing/rollout, and training others.
  • Support decisions relating to guardrails for automation: defining what can be automated vs must remain human-led (especially material risk calls and committee conclusions).
