About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) identifies, models, and recommends ideas related to financial risks and opportunities across the business, working with the Finance Team and cross-functional partners. The role manages short- and long-term forecasts, applies knowledge of the airline industry and JetBlue’s strategy to the competitive landscape, and communicates financial plans and concepts to JetBlue crewmembers, including Executive Leadership Team members. The position drives departmental forecasting and provides financial analysis, strategic guidance, and decision support to cost center leaders. It also prepares materials for executive and Board presentations, including the annual operating plan, quarterly earnings, and monthly business reviews. The role is based in a traditional office environment in Long Island City, New York, and may require occasional overnight travel (15%) and flexible hours or short-notice availability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a High School Diploma/GED and at least four years of relevant work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job responsibilities.
Three years of professional experience in financial modeling, working with financial systems, analytical reasoning, and presentations (for example, in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Investment Banking, or Consulting).
Ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with different groups and organizational levels across JetBlue.
Ability to drive results under tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
Ability to multitask across projects, departments, and timelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Availability for occasional overnight travel (15%).
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located; U.S. work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work flexible hours and be available on short notice when needed.

Nice To Haves

Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or an appropriate postgraduate degree or license.

Responsibilities

Drive departmental short- and long-term operating forecasts, ensuring forecasts are accurate and communicated to department leadership.
Collaborate with Managers and above to provide strategic guidance and business decision support to cost center leaders through financial analysis, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Prepare materials for Executive Leadership and Board Members, including the annual operating plan, quarterly earnings, and monthly business reviews.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and communicate effectively to align stakeholders on financial goals and results.
Fulfill and manage ad hoc requests, including complex analysis requested by Senior Management and projects requiring cross-functional coordination.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Promote JetBlue’s safety values and support its Safety Management System, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards.
Identify and report safety or security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards through available channels.
