Senior Analyst, Configuration
About The Position
Oscar is hiring a Senior Analyst to join its Claims and Benefits Team. The role supports the business by improving the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of platforms, systems, and processes. By understanding platform configuration capabilities, the Senior Analyst helps ensure processes are configured accurately. The position reports to the Manager, Configuration Operations. The role is based in Oscar’s New York City office and follows a hybrid schedule requiring three in-office days each week. Thursday is a required office day for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible. The base pay range is $75,348–$98,894 per year. The role is also eligible for employee benefits, Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses. Final offers within the stated base pay range are determined by factors including relevant skills, education, and experience.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of health plan benefit concepts, such as deductibles, copays, and other forms of cost sharing.
- At least 1 year of SQL experience.
- At least 1 year of claims processing experience.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or comparable programs in the Google Docs Editors suite, such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
- At least 1 year of experience in Jira.
- Experience working in the health insurance industry or in claims.
- Experience working with Jira.
- SQL proficiency.
- Python experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and summarize process behavior to expedite design and solutioning.
- Translate configuration requirements to enable internal teams to resolve escalations.
- Process incoming Jira tickets to support member escalation resolution.
- Identify and pilot opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Triage and manage workflows of ingested items.
- Investigate escalations through incoming tickets or informal pathways.
- Conduct maintenance work and take on ad hoc projects associated with Contract configuration.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Approve work-in-progress contact configuration inquiries to ensure configuration is possible.
- Assist with continued documentation and implementation of workflow updates and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
