About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Business Insights and Analytics, the senior analyst, Business Insights and Analytics interprets data to get insights to inform strategy and drive business decisions across all lines of business under the COO (Financing, Wholesale, GTC, Advisory). The role combines advanced analytics and data product leadership to shape priorities, structure analyses, and drive execution through clear recommendations, operating cadences, and measurable outcomes. The Specialist partners closely with senior leaders, frames ambiguous problems into structured analyses and insight into actionable conclusions that answer the question: “So what?”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, MBA or related field.
  • 7–10+ years total experience in Data Analytics & Insights or Corporate strategy roles with proven ability to turn analysis into decisions and measurable outcomes in complex, cross-functional environments (financial services exposure is an asset).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a high sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Expert in crafting impactful PowerPoint presentations and executive-level visual designs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and support strategic decision-making.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication; crisp narratives with strong visuals.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) mandatory for Montreal-based role.

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting experience in an analytical-driven environment is an asset.
  • Track record of leading insight-to-action initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, and Azure; familiarity with these tools is considered a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions into structured problem statements, learning plans (a clear outline of what needs to be analyzed and how), and clear decision criteria.
  • Build options and scenarios with quantified trade-offs; recommend a course of action with risks, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Shape and maintain an insight operating cadence (regular rhythm for sharing insights, e.g., QBRs/MBRs, scorecards, executive one-pagers) that connects insights to decisions and execution.
  • Acquire strong business knowledge and credibility through the development of a strong network.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with internal clients and partners to provide value and ensure ongoing alignment.
  • Review reports and updates to executive leadership, assuring quality of data and insights and executive-level visualization.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to executive management, leveraging advanced data storytelling techniques to transform complex data into clear, strategic actions and recommendations.
  • Craft concise, compelling narratives and executive-ready materials (one-pagers and presentations) that link insights to choices and actions; brief senior leaders and facilitate alignment.
  • Cultivate strong advisory relationships within the COO leadership and across the organization with key strategic partners, ensuring robust and enduring relationships to establish operational alignment.
  • Mentor analysts; raise the bar on problem-solving rigor, visual storytelling, and stakeholder management.
  • Drive the generation of high-impact actionable insights based on a deep understanding of the business and make recommendations to enable business leaders to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Drive insight activation: define owners, timelines, and measures of success (OKRs/KPIs); support change impacts and adoption in partnership with business leaders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional delivery to move from diagnostic to decisions to execution quickly.
  • Translate detailed operational performance into direct impact on the organization's overarching goals and strategic direction, providing a vital link between operational execution and business strategy.
