About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist & AI/ML Engineer to advance the analytic lifecycle for critical defense and intelligence customer missions. The role performs exploratory data analysis on large-scale datasets to generate operational insights and answer complex Requests for Information (RFIs). It integrates AI-enabled workflows, designs advanced retrieval architectures, and applies mathematical modeling and statistical analysis to modernize traditional intelligence processes. The role also bridges technical data and operational leadership by communicating actionable findings through technical documentation, briefing decks, and executive forums.

An active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level is required. The annual base salary range is $187,000–$221,000 USD, excluding discretionary bonus compensation and benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and other factors.

Requirements

• Active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of professional experience in data science, NLP, or software engineering.
• Mastery of exploratory data analysis on large datasets, intelligence modeling, mathematical modeling, and statistical analysis.
• Proven success modernizing the analytic lifecycle with automated, AI-powered workflows and tradecraft.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and PySpark for big data analytics, large-scale data manipulation, and automated processing.
• Hands-on experience building, training, and evaluating ML/DL models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-Learn.
• Architectural experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, or Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRa).
• Excellent ability to communicate complex data insights to decision-makers through technical reports, whitepapers, and operational briefings.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with R, SQL, or Scala for analytical processing and database querying.
• Practical experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Familiarity with vector database platforms such as Qdrant, ChromaDB, PGVector, or Pinecone.
• Hands-on experience creating visual analytics using Tableau, Seaborn, Matplotlib, or Plotly.
• Exposure to MLOps workflows using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jupyter Notebooks.
