About The Position

Zscaler is seeking a Senior AI-Native Designer & Builder to help evolve its design ecosystem and promote consistency, scalability, and quality across products. The role uses AI as a regular part of the design and development process to build, test, and refine design-system components and prototypes. The position partners with Design, Engineering, and cross-functional product teams to establish visual, interaction, and structural standards for Zscaler product surfaces. It is hybrid, with three days per week at the Santa Clara headquarters, and reports to the Sr Manager, Design System in the Product Management department.

Requirements

Proven experience integrating AI assistants or modern generation and prototyping tools into daily design and development workflows to accelerate outcomes and build interactive layouts.
At least 6 years of Product/UX Design experience, including at least 1–2 years contributing to a multi-product design system.
Demonstrated expertise in systematic component architecture, including how components form larger patterns, templates, and applications.
Familiarity with accessibility frameworks such as WCAG 2.1/2.2 and with designing responsive structural layouts.
Strong collaboration skills, including experience educating and guiding designers on systematic guidelines and structured grids.

Nice To Haves

Ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency.
Literacy in modern frontend technologies such as React, CSS/HTML, token-driven theming, or JSON properties, enabling direct inspection and discussion of code structures with developers.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude to generate, customize, or preview coded components.
Experience designing systems for cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, or other highly technical or complex domains.

Responsibilities

Design, architect, and refine reusable components and interaction patterns, with attention to structural relationships and scalability.
Write component specifications, usage guidelines, and standards, using AI to accelerate drafting and maintain documentation.
Use modern AI-powered design and developer tools to build live prototypes, validate architectural feasibility, and accelerate production implementation.
Partner with UI engineers to align design intent with web technologies and ensure component structures are responsive, accessible, and easy to consume.
Support product design teams adopting the design system by advising on component architecture principles and troubleshooting complex layouts.
