Senior AI Governance Analyst

Groq•Dallas, NY

About The Position

Groq is seeking a Senior AI Governance Analyst to run AI governance operations across its inference products and hosted models. The role brings regulatory obligations—including the EU AI Act, emerging AI laws, and customer AI requirements—into product, contract, and design reviews before launch, and ensures supporting evidence is available to customers and auditors. The position owns operational readiness; Legal remains responsible for legal determinations. The analyst maintains the AI obligations library and model inventory, runs pre-launch governance reviews, owns customer AI questionnaire responses, monitors regulatory developments, and reports governance posture and open risks to security leadership monthly. The role may also prepare Groq’s AI management system for ISO/IEC 42001 certification if leadership approves.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in technology risk, compliance, or privacy, including at least 2 years of hands-on AI governance or responsible AI work.
  • Working knowledge of the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001, with experience translating them into controls, review checklists, and audit evidence.
  • Experience conducting pre-launch AI risk or impact assessments with engineering and product teams and documenting decisions to an audit-ready standard.
  • Technical fluency in the machine learning lifecycle, including training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and inference serving, sufficient to engage credibly with engineers.
  • Experience responding to customer AI due diligence and partnering with Legal on contract terms, with an understanding of which matters belong to Legal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GRC tooling.
  • IAPP AIGP certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the AI obligations library, including EU AI Act obligations, emerging AI laws, customer AI commitments, and model licence conditions; map obligations to controls and owners and document an operational position for each requirement.
  • Run design-stage AI governance reviews for new models, features, sites, and contract terms, assessing applicability, risk, safeguards, and launch conditions, and recording each decision.
  • Maintain an inventory of models Groq serves, including provider, licence terms, intended use, data handling, and applicable controls.
  • Own responses to customer AI questionnaires and AI sections of security reviews, and develop a reusable answer library with Legal and Product.
  • Track AI regulatory developments, assess operational impacts of new requirements before their effective dates, and report AI governance posture and open risks to security leadership monthly.
  • Prepare the AI management system for ISO/IEC 42001 certification if leadership approves it.
