About The Position

Peerbound is seeking a Founding Senior AI Engineer to build AI features that are core to their product. These features are designed to be magical and provide significant value to customers. The role involves integrating AI into various aspects of the product, such as generating customer profiles from various data sources, dynamically prioritizing content based on visitor metadata, and building AI-powered surveys. The engineer will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from research and prototyping to shipping and measuring features. Peerbound is a product-centered company focused on building an A-player Engineering team that collaborates in-person four days a week in their midtown Manhattan office.

Requirements

5+ years building features for a SaaS product.
1+ years building LLM-based features.
MS or PhD in engineering, statistics, or another quantitative field.
Fluent in Python, statistics, and distributed system design.
Real-world experience with LangChain/LangGraph, vector databases, and an eval framework.
Demonstrated track record of excellence.
Reaches for the simplest approach that actually solves the problem.
Cares as much about eval rigor as model selection.

Responsibilities

Build intelligence into every surface of the product.
Generate always-up-to-date customer profiles from call recordings, emails, surveys, reviews, and other touch points.
Use website visitor metadata to dynamically prioritize which testimonials, reviews, and case studies appear on-screen.
Build AI-powered surveys and interviews that tailor questions to match a customer's expertise to a live business need.
Ship features to customers regularly, balancing prompt and model tuning with database schema design and caching strategies.
Own the full loop: research, prototype, build, ship, and measure AI features.
Define how AI works at Peerbound for years to come.
