About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Software Engineer Level 3 – SWE3) to support its AI and Emerging Technologies mission. The role applies a strong software engineering background and AI/ML expertise to develop and integrate AI-driven solutions, including Large Language Models, for vulnerability identification, mitigation, and certification in secure mission environments. The engineer analyzes, designs, verifies, validates, implements, and maintains complex software systems; develops LLM orchestration frameworks, RAG architectures, and AI-driven analytical tools; and optimizes data engineering pipelines, databases, and automated testing capabilities. The role includes integrating AI/ML technologies with software analysis tools, collaborating with systems engineers and mission stakeholders on secure deployments and security assessments, and supporting Authority to Operate requirements. The engineer also develops documentation and training and presents technical briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Fullscope Polygraph. Wyetech lists an hourly pay range of $93.48–$126.58; actual compensation may vary based on factors including contract rates, education, experience, skills, certifications, and location.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, AI/ML development, LLM integration, and data engineering.
  • Experience developing, fine-tuning, and integrating LLMs for mission-specific analytical capabilities.
  • Experience designing and maintaining LLM orchestration frameworks integrating static analyzers, RAG, and automated testing pipelines.
  • Experience developing data preprocessing pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and vectorize source code, documentation, and testing artifacts.
  • Proficiency with relational and vector databases for RAG architectures, artifact storage, metadata management, and audit trails.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing AI-powered applications and networked tools in secure environments.
  • Understanding of software performance profiling, optimization, scalability, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Ability to collaborate with mission stakeholders, technical leadership, and systems engineers to develop requirements and support security assessments and ATO processes.
  • Meet one of the stated education and experience combinations: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline plus 8 years of relevant experience; a master's degree plus 6 years; a doctoral degree plus 4 years; or an associate's degree plus 10 years, which may be considered for candidates with in-depth, directly related experience.
  • Degree must be in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline. Related Engineering or Mathematics degrees may be considered if coursework includes foundational computer science subjects; IT or Information Systems degrees may be considered if coursework is equivalent in amount and type to a Computer Science major.
  • Relevant experience must include software development and programming, including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment or installation, and maintenance.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Fullscope Polygraph required.
  • United States citizenship required.
