Senior AI Engineer (SWE3)

Wyetech•Linthicum Heights, MD

About The Position

Wyetech is hiring a Senior AI Engineer (Software Engineer Level 3) to support its AI and Emerging Technologies mission. The role develops and integrates AI-driven solutions, including Large Language Models, to improve vulnerability identification and mitigation and support certification processes in secure mission environments. The engineer analyzes, designs, verifies, validates, implements, and maintains software systems, applying relevant computer science principles to complex systems. The position includes developing LLM orchestration frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, data engineering pipelines, database solutions, automated testing capabilities, and AI-powered analytical tools. The engineer collaborates with mission stakeholders, technical leadership, and systems engineers to define requirements, deploy secure and scalable solutions, and support security assessments and Authority to Operate processes. The role also involves producing documentation and training and presenting technical briefings and demonstrations. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Fullscope Polygraph. They must meet one of the specified education and experience combinations: a bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience; a master's degree and six years; a doctoral degree and four years; or, potentially, an associate's degree and ten years of directly related experience. Degrees must be in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline, subject to the stated coursework criteria. Relevant experience must include software development and programming across requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment or installation, and maintenance. The listed hourly pay range is $93.48–$126.58. Wyetech notes that actual compensation depends on factors including contract rates, education, experience, skills, certifications, and location. The role offers a SEP IRA contribution, PTO, voluntary benefit plans, referral bonuses, mobility among supported contracts, team events, and branded clothing orders.
