About The Position
Boston University is assembling an AI Engineering team to transform operations, drive innovation, and deliver AI applications and agents. The Senior AI Engineer will work on university initiatives and collaborate with faculty, students, and technical teams to develop AI solutions for university operations and beyond. The role involves using technologies such as agentic AI frameworks, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, MCP, and scalable AI architectures.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure, scalable, and user-friendly AI applications and agents across front-end and back-end environments.
- Integrate AI technologies and frameworks, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and MCP.
- Design and optimize prompts and AI workflows to support effective agent performance and accurate task execution.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate AI solutions with data, infrastructure, systems, and operational workflows.
- Test and troubleshoot AI applications and agents to ensure accuracy, reliability, and functional performance.
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve solutions and development practices.
