About The Position

This role is for a Senior Advanced Pharmacy Tech in Pharmacy Home Infusion at Ascension Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita, KS. The schedule is full-time, day shift with variable hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and Saturday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Current Professional Credentials: Active Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy and national CPhT certification.
Proven, hands-on experience in sterile IV compounding and hazardous drug preparation within a clean room setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing pharmacy automation, including IV workflow systems, carousels, and automated dispensing cabinets.

Responsibilities

Execute advanced hazardous drug compounding and IV admixtures in a clean room environment, ensuring every life-saving dose meets rigorous safety and quality standards.
Oversee pharmacy automation technology, robotics, and controlled substance protocols to safeguard patient safety and maintain flawless regulatory integrity.
Act as a critical liaison between physicians, nurses, and patients to coordinate smooth therapy delivery and ensure a seamless transition of care.
Provide advanced cross-training and mentorship to staff in specialized areas like the operating room and retail satellites, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
Master complex pharmaceutical calculations and inventory optimization to prevent drug shortages and ensure medication is ready exactly when the patient needs it.
