About The Position

Ascension Via Christi Hospitals is seeking a Senior Advanced Pharmacy Tech for their Pharmacy Home Infusion specialty in Wichita, KS. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule with variable hours, including weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm and weekends from 9 am to 5 pm. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. Requirements

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following required: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Current Professional Credentials: Active Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy and national CPhT certification.
• Sterile Environment Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in sterile IV compounding and hazardous drug preparation within a clean room setting.
• Advanced Technical Literacy: Demonstrated proficiency in managing pharmacy automation, including IV workflow systems, carousels, and automated dispensing cabinets.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced hazardous drug compounding and IV admixtures in a clean room environment, ensuring every life-saving dose meets rigorous safety and quality standards.
• Oversee pharmacy automation technology, robotics, and controlled substance protocols to safeguard patient safety and maintain flawless regulatory integrity.
• Act as a critical liaison between physicians, nurses, and patients to coordinate smooth therapy delivery and ensure a seamless transition of care.
• Provide advanced cross-training and mentorship to staff in specialized areas like the operating room and retail satellites, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
• Master complex pharmaceutical calculations and inventory optimization to prevent drug shortages and ensure medication is ready exactly when the patient needs it.
