About The Position

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Technology System Layout Engineer develops manufacturing system layouts and production line architectures that optimize material flow, equipment utilization, operator efficiency, and overall system performance. The role uses CAD tools to design and visualize integrated manufacturing systems and collaborates with process, equipment, automation, controls, operations, product engineering, logistics, and plant leadership teams to implement new production capabilities. The engineer develops scalable manufacturing systems that balance operator labor content with automated equipment capabilities. Responsibilities span manufacturing concepts for new products, expansions, and plant transformations; assembly-line and workstation design; future-state layouts using lean principles; line balancing; capacity planning; system simulations and bottleneck analysis; and participation in design reviews, factory and site acceptance tests, and production readiness reviews. The role is based fully onsite in Sidney, Ohio, and requires travel up to 25% within the United States and Mexico.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field; an associate degree with equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or advanced manufacturing experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing assembly lines, manufacturing systems, and plant layouts.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and production flow analysis.
  • Proficiency with layout CAD software such as AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or similar 2D software.
  • Experience with line balancing, labor analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the United States and Mexico.
