About The Position

Chesterfield Public Library is seeking a full-time Senior Administrative Analyst to join their team. This role involves performing complex work in strategic, technical, financial, and performance-management areas, managing systemwide data and analytics, and providing decision support and reporting to library leadership. The position also involves developing and maintaining data capture infrastructure, identifying, collecting, storing, managing, analyzing, and deploying data critical to internal operations and external reporting. The analyst will create tools and reporting mechanisms to support strategic planning, performance evaluation, staffing decisions, budget analysis, collection management, community services, outreach, marketing, and program development. They will build high-quality tools, dashboards, and reports to highlight trends and insights, present analytic findings in dynamic formats, and help leaders and staff understand and apply these measures. The role includes tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and providing confidential research and analysis support to leadership, teams, and committees. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field
  • Three years of professional-level experience in analytics, decision support, report writing, and program development in public or private industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong proficiency with analytic tools and software, such as Excel (spreadsheet software), Python or R (programming languages), SQL (query languages), PowerBI or Tableau (data visualization tools), and ArcGIS (mapping tools)
  • Ability to learn new technologies and assess emerging tools to recommend solutions
  • Skill in analyzing complex problems and providing clear, actionable solutions
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and present relevant data through recommendations, summaries, reports and presentations
  • Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or as a team lead, and meet deadlines
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Strong oral, written, and data visualization communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
