About The Position

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Pricing at Central Insurance, you will complete pricing and rate analyses and peer reviews using data-driven approaches. You will prepare actuarial portions of rate filings, support responses to insurance department questions, and contribute to business projects and ongoing process improvements. The role also includes modifying and writing code to manipulate and query data, assisting with training, and helping prepare rate level indications and statistical experience analyses.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field and 2 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing; alternatively, 4 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing.
Strong skills with programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS, and VBA are preferred.
Four or more actuarial exams passed are preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete pricing and rate analysis as assigned.
Complete peer reviews and review Analyst work to ensure the quality of work products.
Prepare actuarial portions of rate filings, including assisting with responses to questions raised by insurance departments.
Prepare special projects as requested by the business.
Modify and write code to manipulate and query data with minimal supervision.
Assist with training others on pricing and rate analysis tasks.
Assist in preparing rate level indications.
Assist in preparing analyses of statistical experience.
Monitor Actuarial Department communications for opportunities to collaborate and drive consistency in actuarial work products.
Support continuous improvement efforts for recurring department processes to minimize errors.
