Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

CRETELLIGENTRancho Cordova, CA
$31 - $38Hybrid

About The Position

We are CREtelligent, a company revolutionizing commercial real estate (CRE) due diligence through our RADIUS platform, offering services like environmental site assessments, property condition assessments, valuations, zoning reports, and surveys. Our finance team operates with an AI-native model, utilizing Claude for mechanical tasks to allow human focus on judgment, relationships, and exceptions. This role is the second senior person in our Accounts Receivable (AR) function, working alongside the AR Manager. The position involves managing a direct book of complex receivables and taking ownership of department process projects. Unlike standard collections, this role focuses on invoices tied to commercial real estate transaction closings, requiring tracking of deal and closing status, coordination with title, escrow, and client contacts, and timing follow-up to events rather than calendar terms. The ideal candidate treats collections as project management and understands the importance of front-end leverage in a professional services business. Experience in commercial real estate, title, escrow, lending, or construction is highly recognized.

Requirements

  • Full-cycle B2B accounts receivable and collections experience: 7+ years, or 5+ years when it includes a closings-driven industry background.
  • Lead, senior, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, CRE lending or due diligence, title or escrow, construction, or another industry where receivables are tied to transaction closings or project milestones.
  • Ability to clearly explain where collection leverage lives in a professional services business.
  • Experience building systems: trackers, cadences, and reporting designed and ran independently.
  • Concise, structured written and verbal communication skills.
  • A relationship-preserving collections style.
  • Comfort being accountable for AI-assisted output.
  • Advanced Excel and strong reporting instincts.
  • Quick on new systems.
  • High School diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Claude or similar AI tools is a plus.
  • QuickBooks Online, HubSpot, or Salesforce exposure a plus.
  • AA or BA/BS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own collections for a portfolio of our most complex accounts: closing-tied receivables, escalations, and trouble accounts.
  • Track deal and closing status, coordinate with title, escrow, and client contacts, and time follow-up to closing events rather than calendar dates.
  • Keep collection status and next steps documented and current on every account; teams across the company rely on accurate, up-to-date status notes.
  • Recommend third-party agency placement where warranted and track placed accounts: status, fees, and expected recovery against face value.
  • Drive department process projects end to end, from scoping through a documented, operationalized process.
  • Contribute to and sharpen AR reporting (aging, DSO, coverage) in partnership with the AR Manager.
  • Work inside our AI operating model: every recurring process is documented and run through Claude, and you review, approve, escalate, and own the output.
