About The Position

FBFK is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing finance team. This role is a strong opportunity for an experienced AR professional who wants to do more than traditional collections work and play a meaningful part in improving process, cash flow, and overall accounts receivable performance across the firm. We are looking for someone who brings both strong collection experience and the ability to think strategically. This person will help drive AR workflow, collection guidelines, follow-up priorities, and escalation recommendations, while partnering closely with attorneys, billing staff, and finance leadership to improve results. The ideal candidate is professional, confident, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to balance persistence, sound judgment, and diplomacy in a law firm or other professional services environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounts receivable or collections experience
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys and leadership in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software, AR systems, and Excel
  • A proactive professional who can bring structure, consistency, and results to the AR function

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a law firm, professional services, or medical practice preferred

Responsibilities

  • Help drive the firm’s AR collections strategy, process flow, and follow-up standards
  • Manage and monitor aging receivables, collection priorities, and high-risk accounts
  • Partner with attorneys and internal teams to improve collection outcomes and accountability
  • Recommend escalation of delinquent or problem accounts to leadership when appropriate
  • Support process improvements that strengthen cash flow and reduce aged AR
  • Serve as a senior resource to the AR team by sharing best practices and helping elevate performance
  • Provide reporting and insight on collection trends, risks, and opportunities
