About The Position

Jenkins Automotive Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This position reports directly to the Controller and plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of dealership accounting operations. If you enjoy reconciling complex accounts, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (automotive dealership accounting strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of general ledger reconciliations and receivables.
  • Experience with manufacturer schedules is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation, monitoring, administration, and oversight of assigned operational accounting schedules, receivables, payroll support, and manufacturer accounts.
  • Monitor assigned receivable balances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review service, parts, and body shop accounts receivable activity.
  • Reconcile factory receivable schedules.
  • Monitor holdback, floorplan assistance, and advertising assistance accounts.
  • Review payroll clearing activity and verify payroll-related balances.
  • Review cash sales postings for accuracy.
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate corrections with department managers and accounting staff.
  • Maintain organized supporting documentation.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Review aged receivable balances.
  • Verify manufacturer receivable activity.
  • Review holdback schedules.
  • Monitor floorplan assistance activity.
  • Review payroll-related account balances.
