About The Position

Grimes & Company Wealth Management, LLC is a thriving Registered Investment Advisory firm headquartered in Westborough, Massachusetts with satellite offices and employees strategically located across the U.S. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant to our collaborative and high-performing Finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Working closely with the Controller, this individual will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, support treasury and accounts payable activities, and assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This position requires a strong accounting foundation, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing organization. The Senior Accountant will also support ongoing process improvements, annual audit activities, and special projects while helping maintain accurate financial records and strong financial controls. This is a hybrid position with the candidate expected to report to our headquarters in Westborough, MA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience required; public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with consolidation accounting is a plus.
  • Experience in financial services or professional services is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm.
  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts.
  • Manage treasury activities, including ACH transactions, wire transfers, check processing, and daily banking functions.
  • Monitor cash activity and assist with cash management.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and financial reports for management.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Support accounts payable activities and vendor payments as needed.
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and requested documentation.
  • Assist with accounting activities related to acquisitions and other strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Support ongoing improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to resolve accounting questions and support business operations.
  • Support the Controller with financial reporting, analysis, and special projects.
  • Participate in system implementations and other projects as assigned.
